Ethiopia’s 8 days Trek
You will be transferred from Gondar to Sankabar camp and drop you to enjoy the views over the long, steep slope before the campsite. There you watch large groups of the Gelada monkey communityand you camp at Sankabar which is at 3250m.
The actual time to trek from Sanakabar camp to Gich camp via Jinibar fallsis around around 6 hours and Gich camp is at height of 3600m.
Here you will do a day trek to Imet Gogo and you will experience gorgeous views of the Simien long, steep slope and the separating areas of land at different heights.
Now the trekking starts from Gich to Chennek (3620m) and when you reach you are again blessed with mesmerising views and you happen to view a large group of Gelada monkeys, Walia Ibex together with the Ethiopian wolf. The total Trekking time is likely to be around 9 hours.
You will start trekking from Chennek camp to Ambiko camp (3200m). Ambiko camp is claimed to be the base camp before the climbing up of Ras Dejen, Ethiopia’s highest peak. Trekking time will take approximately 9 hours.
You will start to climb Ras Dejen (4543m) before dawn as you have to cover long 12 hours of trekking of a long day and returning to Ambiko.
Trek back to Chennek camp (8 hours).
Trekking starts in morning around Chennek and in the afternoon return all the way to Gondar.
